ノルウェー通信#2 「海洋国家」 Norwegian newsletter#2 ”Maritime nations”
ノルウェーについて皆様どのような印象をお持ちですか？「漁獲量の多い国」「ヴァイキングなど歴史的に海とかかわりのある国」「ノーベル平和賞授与式が行われる国」また旅行好きの方にとっては「オーロラの見える国」などがあるのではないでしょうか。ノルウェーも日本も海に囲まれた山の多い国であり自然環境に深い愛情を抱いている国家です。昨今の気候関連に関しては、野心的な目標を掲げ持続可能な開発目標の達成に力を注いでいます。
また両国は「持続可能な海洋経済の構築に向けたハイレベル・パネル」を通じて、世界の海の継続的な健全性・生産性を保護する活動のリーダーシップをとっており、同パネルでは、両国首相が他の12か国とともに、2025年までに国家管轄管内の海洋区域のすべてを持続可能な形で管理することを決議しています。ノルウェーも日本もまさに海洋国家の代表国と言えるでしょう。

What are your impressions of Norway? “Countries with high catches”, “countries historically related to the sea such as the Vikings”, “countries where the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony is held”, and “countries where the aurora can be seen” for travel lovers. Both Norway and Japan are mountainous countries surrounded by the sea and have a deep love for the natural environment. With regard to climate-related matters these days, we have set ambitious goals and are focusing on achieving sustainable development goals.
The two countries are also taking the leadership in activities to protect the continued health and productivity of the world’s oceans through the “High Level Panel for Building a Sustainable Marine Economy”. The panel has resolved that the Prime Ministers, along with 12 other countries, will sustainably manage all marine areas within state jurisdiction by 2025. Norway and Japan can be said to be representatives of maritime nations.
11月8日、ノルウェー大使館の皆様が江の島ヨットクラブに来訪されました。目的は、来春予定のノルウェーフレンドシップヨットレースの準備視察です。来年4月のノルウェーフレンドシップヨットレースでは、海ではヨットレースを楽しみ、陸では海洋環境の保全にリーダーシップをとる両国の親善を深めるイベントにしようと計画中です。ノルウェーについての理解を深めつつ、ノルウェーの皆さんにも江の島の魅力をたっぷりお伝えできればと考えています。
On November 8th, people from the Norwegian Embassy visited the Enoshima Yacht Club. The purpose is to prepare for the Norwegian Friendship Yacht Race scheduled for next spring. At the Norwegian Friendship Yacht Race in April next year, we are planning to make it an event to enjoy yacht racing at sea, and on land,to deepen the friendship between the two countries to take leadership in the conservation of the marine environment . While deepening our understanding of Norway, we would like to fully convey the charm of Enoshima to the Norwegian people.
