今回のノルウェー通信では、東京２０２０セーリング競技で活躍されたチームノルウェーの皆さんのエピソードをお伝えします。東京2020オリンピックのメダリストに渡されたビクトリーブーケは、宮城県、岩手県、福島県で栽培されたトルコキキョウ、リンドウ、ヒマワリでメダリストの手元に彩を添えました。男子レーザー級で銅メダルを獲得したノルウェーのヘルマントマスゴール選手は、このブーケを以前宿泊先としていた友人の日本人にプレゼントされたそうです。

　In this Norwegian newsletter, we will tell you about the episodes of Team Norwegian in the Tokyo 2020 sailing competition.　The Victory Bouquet, which was handed over to the medalist of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, added color to the medalist’s hands with eustoma, gentian, and sunflower cultivated in Miyagi, Iwate, and Fukushima prefectures. Norwegian sailor, Herman Tomasgaard, who won the bronze medal in the men’s laser class, gave this bouquet to his friend Japanese, who had previously stayed there.

今回のオリンピックでは、江の島ヨットクラブのメンバーがノルウェー選手団のアテンド役を務めました。新型コロナウィルス感染防止対策で制約の多いレース運営となりましたが、見事銅メダル獲得というチームノルウェーの快挙に惜しみない称賛を送るとともに、チームノルウェーの皆さんにとって江の島沖が、思い出の海になっていると良いなと思います。
